YOU AND YOUR SKIN

Not everyone can afford to go to the spa but everyone can give the skin the pampering it deserves. I hope you have learned a lot from the previous post on you and your skin, you should know your skin type by now. It’s not easy to have clear, glowing, and great skin without any effort attached.

#Rule 1

Sun Protection

Exposure to the sun can cause greater damage than you can ever imagine. Have you ever wondered why you always return home very dark, looking burnt as a student when you’re back from school after a stressful school session; or why you look so dark after a long day in the sun with lots of sweat on? Exposure to the sun can cause wrinkles, and age spots, as it accelerates skin aging and other skin problems. Stop damaging your skin by staying under direct sunlight, staying under shades, and wearing protective clothing.

#Rule 2

Treat Your Skin With Care

Please stop the long hot bath, you need to stop it because it removes oil from the skin, leaving it rough and dry, you can go for a warm shower or bath. Also avoid strong soaps that can have harsh effects on your skin, instead; use gentle and mild cleansers or soaps. Before shaving, make sure your skin is lubricated with either shaving cream, lotion, or gel; moisturize your skin with a moisturizer that fits your skin.

#Rule 3

Control Stress and Eat Healthy

You need to manage stress if you want a healthy state of mind and healthy skin. Stress can make skin sensitive and can cause acne and other skin problems, try to relax after a long stressful day and get enough sleep. Eating a healthy diet can help you out with great skin, eat more vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, fruits, and less sugar. Also, stay hydrated, and drink plenty of water.

#Rule 4

Quit Smoking

Smoking contributes to wrinkles, it damages the fibers that give your skin strength and elasticity. Smoking makes you look older and your skin looks dry. Please avoid smoking and pollution.

 #Rule 5

 Don’t Overwash Your Face

Washing your face before you go to bed is very important because dirt, oil, and pollution build up and lead to both inflammation and breakouts but don’t overwash by scrubbing your face as it can also lead to rough and dry skin.
