From Social Media Strategist to Certified Aesthetician: My Skincare Return

Certified Aesthetician – Class of 2025

By Oluwadamilola Faith Akindolire

In 2021, I wrote my last skincare article on this blog.

Back then, skincare was a passion, an obsession, really but it was something I explored only through curiosity and the lens of a content creator. I was balancing social media strategy, brand storytelling, and remote creative work, and somewhere in the middle of it all, I used this blog as a safe space to express everything I was learning.

Then life evolved.

Between 2021 and now, I stepped into a new chapter of my life, one where skincare was no longer just something I loved, but something I wanted to master. Something I wanted to touch, understand, transform, and build a career from. And so, in August 2024, I officially began my journey into aesthetics.

Today, I am proud to say:
I am now an Internationally Certified Aesthetician.
A title earned through learning, unlearning, practicing, and constantly challenging myself.
But this comeback isn’t just because I have a new certificate.
It’s because I have a new purpose.

Why I Left and Why I’m Back

When I stopped writing, it wasn’t because I lost passion.
I simply outgrew where I was.
I realized that I didn’t want to talk about skincare only from the surface level. I wanted to go deeper into the science, the anatomy, the transformations, and the future of beauty itself.

I wanted to understand:
• Why skin behaves the way it does
• What truly heals skin concerns like pigmentation, texture, or acne
• How devices, ingredients, and clinical treatments work beneath the surface
• How technology is reshaping beauty and diagnostics globally

I wanted to be more than someone who loves skincare.
I wanted to be someone who makes meaning out of it.
So I left to learn.
And now I’m back to teach, to document, to share, and to serve.

What To Expect From the New TúyIfedami Skin Blog

This comeback isn’t just a continuation.
It’s a rebirth of my entire skincare platform.

Here’s what the new era looks like:
– Clinical-Backed Skincare Education
– Real insights from real training.
– Expect content influenced by anatomy, cosmetic science, skin imaging, microneedling, chemical peels, and hands-on treatments.
– Skin Deep Dialogues (Now Stronger Than Ever)
– My interview series with global beauty queens, estheticians, industry founders, and women redefining beauty will officially return.
– Expect deeper conversations, stronger storytelling, and intentional reflections.
– Case Studies & Treatment Diaries

I’ll be documenting real client journeys: hyperpigmentation, acne scars, uneven texture, and sensitivity with professional-level detail.

Honest Conversations About Career, Growth & Pivoting

From remote work…
to creative strategy…
to aesthetics…
to international certification…
to building a hybrid beauty-tech career…

I want this platform to reflect ALL of it, the evolution, the uncertainties, the learning curves, and the wins.

Why This Blog Still Matters to Me

Because writing is where my clarity comes from.
Storytelling is where my identity unfolds.
And skincare in its simplest form, is still where I feel the closest to purpose.

My journey is no longer just about products.
It’s about people, skin health, psychology, science, and global beauty stories.

So today, I’m officially reopening this space.
A space where you can learn, feel inspired, get answers, connect, and grow with me.

This is my comeback not because I left, but because I evolved.

Thank you for being here.
Thank you for reading.
And welcome to the new TúyIfedami.

We’re just getting started.
